Hard to believe that this adorable little girl was found wandering the highway all by herself and that after someone got her to safety no one came looking for her. Well to bad for them! Now named Piper this 6 month(ish) old Border Collie/Retriever is a part of the Fuzzy Pawz Rescue family and on the hunt for a new home.
Piper is a very sweet girl who is willing to just about anything to please you and to be with her people. She loves to lie in your lap (if you?ll let her); she will follow you around (if you?ll let her); she?ll help you with your sit-ups by lying on your chest (if you?ll let her). She?ll give you a sweet smile, cuddle with you and glow when you shower her with affection.
She is a silly and playful girl who would greatly benefit (and LOVE) going to a puppy class. She currently will try to protect you from vacuum cleaners, blowing leaves and will bark at cars (and try to chase them) coming into the driveway. Being that Piper is still a puppy she does have a few other manners that she needs to learn ? no jumping on people when excited and she will occasionally put her mouth on you when playing (not a bite, just mouthing). But she is one smart cookie and learns quickly!
On the upside she is great on a leash and does great in off-leash pack walks; you just need to remember to keep her focused on you while off leash ? she?s still a puppy and there are a ton of new things for her to explore. Piper has great house manners and is not an inappropriate chewer, she will sleep in a crate (but she doesn?t like it); she sleeps all night long on her own bed and best of all she is house trained and will let you know when she has to potty.
And did we mention that Piper loves other dogs? And that she is really good with cats? She loves to play chase with other dogs and romp around ? she will emulate whatever they do. As for the cats ? a quick sniff and she?s done with them.
Piper?s new home will need a fenced yard for sure. She would love to find a home that has another dog, but that is not a requirement. Kids are okay if the parents understand that Piper is a puppy and will need to be supervised around little ones. Piper would do really well in an active household ? running, hiking, biking, long walks, whatever; she is up for it.
Piper is truly a pleasure to have around and will undoubtedly melt the hearts of anyone she meets.
