FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, Idaho
Gemma is a 3 year old spayed female Australian Cattle Dog/Border collie mix who recently lost her home, so Fuzzy Pawz Rescue took her in so she did not have to be in a shelter.
When Gemma first came to us she was a sensitive girl and a bit shy, but now that she is in a loving foster home she is outgoing, happy, playful and full of life.
Gemma loves to play in the water and she loves toys and enjoys fetch; however she needs durable toys as she likes to chew on them. She is still good with all other dogs, large and small, but no dominant dogs please they intimidate her. Gemma has a very high prey drive so no cats, no bunnies, and no small animals at all. Also no small children (over 12 only), she is not aggressive but tends to be frightened of small children
She is house trained and knows how to use the dog door. She is quiet and settled once in the crate, but is still working on going in on command. She rides well in the car. She knows how to sit, wait and come. She is working on off, no and leave it. She has a bad habit of jumping on people when she sees them because she gets so excited but her foster family is working on that also. She does well on the leash with occasional reminders.
She does bark at things on the other side of the fence. The good thing is she stops immediately when called.
She is very athletic and would be great as a hiking partner, running partner, agility etc.
She has recently been spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped
