When he isn?t in hot pursuit of those Duke boys Rosco P. Coltrane is all about kicking back, eating a good meal and hanging out with his friends. Unlike his namesake he isn?t a clumsy, slow-witted buffoon; rather he is sharp as a tack and one speedy pup!
This 3 - 4 year old Australian Kelpie/Terrier mix will arrest you the minute you meet him with his soul full eyes, sweet demeanor and joy of life. Rosco loves all people including children, however he does jump so no kids under 10 please. Rosco loves to play with other dogs, large and small; however he does have strong prey drive and needs a home without cats, chickens or other small furry pets (little dogs are fine ? he's buddies with a 8 pound Chi). He would love to have his very own little buddy to play with!
As your typical ?good ?ol boy? Rosco is house trained and has learned how to use the dog door and is crate trained. Loves squeaky toys and enjoys a good game of fetch or chase; he also loves to swim and play in the water. Rosco is very muscular, agile and fast ? this is how he catches those Duke?s so often; he would make a great running or agility partner.
Rosco loves to be with people and can often be found wherever his foster mom is. Rosco knows a few basic commands: sit, no, off and is working on leave it, down, wait and perfecting his leash skills. Being a man of the law he is willing to learn and follow the rules.
Rosco seems to have a special affinity for wheelchair bound people and will gently place his head up in their lap seeking affection. As with any good lawman he?s all about helping his community and with some training Rosco could become a therapy dog.
Rosco will need a home with a securely fenced (6? please) yard with no chain link as this boy has figured out how to climb it.
