Goofy, Silly, Happy those are the words we all use to describe Fuzzy Pawz foster dog Bud. This 8 month old Bearded Collie/German Wirehaired Pointer (our best guess) mix is all snuggly cuteness and 77 pounds of leg, muscle and awesomeness!
Bud can be a bit unsure of new people but hand him a dog cookie; give him a quick pet and he will be your best friend. He bounds quickly and strongly to people and LOVES to be pet; he follows his Foster Mom everywhere she goes and sneaks in extra petting time whenever he can. If Bud could speak he would tell his foster mom and each of his human friends ?I love you to the moon and back?.
This goofy boy is living with four other dogs and gets along great with all of them. He does tend to forget just how big he is and has to be reminded not to run them over during play time. Bud gets excited when he meets a new dog and can sometimes bum rush them in his excitement to play; but he takes both human and other dogs corrections perfectly. We have had Bud around a few cats now and he totally ignores them; even a sweet cat named Mouse who wanted to be Bud?s new best friend in a bad way; Mouse kept rubbing all over Bud and Bud just kept turning his head away.
Bud is house trained, knows how to use a dog door, knows sit, takes treats gently and is working on many other commands. He is doing well with crate training; he doesn?t like it very well though and sometimes you have to trick him into going in. He walks fairly well on a leash, but he does tend to get distracted on occasion. Bud is a higher energy boy and will need walked/ran every single day and needs to have someone play with him; as long as he gets his exercise he is a happy, content boy. Bud thrives on praise, so tell him when he is doing well and he will be happy to do it again!
Bud will need a family that is going to exercise him daily and keep up on his socialization with other people and dogs. He needs a family that will take him places (he loves going to H3 Pet Foods) with them; introducing him to new things and new experiences. You put in the time and he will reward you with all the love and affection in the world.
Bud is neutered, microchipped and current on all vaccinations.
There is a $75 adoption fee to help cover part of Bud?s vet costs; the balance of the bill will be paid by the rescue
